Bottom Feed

The most important part of taking up painting with an airbrush is the cleaning and care for it. Taking time to properly clean your airbrush is what helps produce a cleaner spray pattern and better results.

When removing parts, set them aside in order from right to left and refer to the parts diagram when re-assembling your airbrush.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Set removed parts aside in order so reassembly is easier and more accurate.

Step 1 unscrew the handle

Unscrew the handle.

Step 2 remove the handle
Step 2

Remove the handle and set it aside.

Step 3 remove the needle chucking nut
Step 3

Unscrew the needle chucking nut and set it aside.

Step 4 remove the needle
Step 4

Carefully remove the needle and wipe it clean with cleaning solution and a paper towel. Check the tip for any bending, then set it aside.

Step 5 remove the spring guide
Step 5

Unscrew the spring guide and set it aside.

Remove the spring and set it aside.

Step 7 remove the needle chucking guide

Carefully remove the needle chucking guide with the auxiliary lever and set it aside.

Step 8 remove the trigger

Lift up the trigger and set it aside.

Step 9 remove the color jar

Remove the color jar from the bottom of the airbrush.

Step 9a clean the color cup
Step 9a

Use the cleaning brush to clean the color cup, then rinse.

Step 10 remove the needle cap

Unscrew the needle cap.

Step 11 remove the nozzle

Remove the nozzle inside and set it aside.

Step 12 remove the air cap
Step 12

Unscrew the air cap and set it aside.

Step 12a clean the cap

Use the cleaning brush to clean the inside of the cap.

Step 12b clean the main body
Step 12b

Use the cleaning brush and airbrush cleaner to clean the inside of the main body of the airbrush. Use a back and forth motion.

Reassemble the airbrush carefully and make sure all components are secure before testing.

Once cleaned and reassembled, do a quick test spray with water to make sure the airbrush is operating properly.
