The most important part of taking up painting with an airbrush is the cleaning and care for it. Taking time to properly clean your airbrush is what will be the defining attribute to a nice clean airbrush painting. The saying used to be “your painting will only be as good as your equipment,” when it is in fact, “your art will only be as good as how clean your equipment is.”
When removing parts, set aside in order from right to left and refer to the parts diagram when re-assembling your airbrush.
Instructions
Set removed parts aside in order so reassembly is easier and more accurate.
Unscrew the handle.
Remove the handle and set aside.
Unscrew the needle chucking nut and set aside.
Carefully remove the needle and wipe clean with cleaning solution and a paper towel. Look for any bending on the tip of the needle, then set aside.
Unscrew the spring guide and set aside.
Remove the spring and set aside.
Carefully remove the needle chucking guide (with auxiliary lever) and set aside.
Lift up the trigger and set aside.
Remove auxiliary lever.
Remove the color cup from the side of the airbrush.
Remove the plug on the opposite side the color cup.
Use the cleaning brush to clean the inside, then rinse.
Use the cleaning brush to clean the inside, then rinse.
Unscrew the needle cap then set aside.
Unscrew the nozzle cap.
Carefully unscrew the fluid nozzle with your fingers. You may also need the provided spanner wrench to tighten or loosen the nozzle.
Unscrew the air cap.
Use the cleaning brush to clean the air cap, then rinse.
Use the cleaning brush and airbrush cleaner to clean the inside of the main body of the airbrush, then rinse.
For reassembling your airbrush, start by screwing on the head system base or air cap.
Carefully screw on the fluid nozzle with your fingers. You may also need the provided spanner wrench.
Screw on the nozzle cap.
Screw on the needle cap.
Replace the plug on the opposite side the color cup.
Replace the color cup.
Carefully replace the auxiliary lever.
Replace the trigger.
Carefully replace the needle chucking guide (with auxiliary lever).
Replace the spring.
Screw on the spring guide.
Carefully replace the needle.
Screw on the needle chucking nut.
Screw on the handle.
Once cleaned and reassembled, do a quick test spray with water to make sure the airbrush is operating properly.
