Apple Red Kandy - Shimrin2 (2nd Gen) Kandy Basecoat, 1 Quart

Colors was very pretty and strong, vivid. The application was a real chore. Takes an exact mix and gun adjustments to even come close to matching the panel hue. I was finally able to isolate each panel and apply the exact technique, with both paint mixing and gun settings, and pressure to get acceptable results.

This takes a lot of practice, with the same color and mixing, to make this system result in a true kandy effect.

This product lays down so smooth and easy. Just like Mr. John Kosmoski said in his youtube video, it is user friendly and a beginner can spray it. Great product, best ever on the market. My only issue is it is very pricey if your painting a full size vehicle under the hood trunk door jams or truck including inside the cab with the same scenario. There should be a discount available if you buy everything from the sealer silver or gold base intercoat clear reducers flakes kandy base topcoat clear hardners etc. The whole 9 yards will cost. I give it 1👍s up for quality and price. It would get 2👍👍s up if the price was a lil cheaper for a whole truck or car kit.

Took more than I anticipated. I bought a gallon which mixes 2:1 meaning I’d have a gallon and a half sprayable. I used every bit to get two decent coats on. I was hoping for 3 coats to get it really dark.

This was the perfect color for my restoration project; a 1961 Massey Ferguson 35 tractor, will need to order more to finish. Simple and easy to use much better than gen 1.
